It all started thus....

I am gathering hearts for Christchurch. Not heart blocks in the quilting sense but ‘hanging’ hearts.
Two heart shapes sewn together, stuffed or not, embellished, embroidered, CQ’d, quilted, plain or fancy, felt or fabric or anything goes. Add a loop at the top.
However many inches high that you care to make. For ease of postage, envelope size is a good measurement.
Also for ease of postage you can send them flat, leave an opening and add a note “Please stuff me” I have a couple of non sewers on stuffing.
You can choose to sign them on the back and add a message. It would be nice to have at least the area they come from.
This is just a small measure of something nice to give in this terrible time.
A heart is a symbol of caring and I know we all feel an overpowering desire to do something.

  12. Hi Evie, I am Di's friend Jan, it is my group meeting on 26 March, I do hope we wont be too late to be sending you out some hearts. I am hoping all the ladies will make at least one heart, I will nag and nag for more though. It's what I do, they are used to me. As soon as I have them I will post them to you. Great idea, simple for all to do too. Can I put your info on my Blog please?

  13. Hi Jan Sorry for delay in answering you...I missed where the comment was!
I hope to be able to announce an end date soon.....working on when to take them to Christchurch and where to exhibit them first...26 March will be okay, it should work easily. There are many groups working on hearts including those at monthly meetings so I am allowing time for them.

  16. Hi Laurie
Yes still accepting hearts. They will miss the exhibition but will still make it to Christchurch to be distributed. Articles are appearing in International magazines hence the very flexible cut off date. I look forward to receiving your hearts....many thanks.
