.... in Auckland, NZ.
Lovely novelty print hearts. Many thanks to Jenny.
Two heart shapes sewn together, stuffed or not, embellished, embroidered, CQ'd,quilted, plain or fancy, anything goes. Add a loop for hanging. Choose your size. For ease of posting, envelope size is a good measurment. You can send them flat just add a note 'To be stuffed'. Sign (or not), add a message and where the hearts are from. This is a small measure of something nice to give in this terrible time.

Little Sew 'n Sews
..... in Auckland, NZ.
The children in this school holiday programme decided to make Hearts for Christchurch. They took what they needed home and completed their hearts in their own time.
These are very pretty in pink with Christchurch in the middle.
Excellent effort.... many thanks to you all.

Have another look at the post with the hearts from Bulgaria. I have added the names of the makers.
Thanks to copy/paste, the spelling should be correct!

Teddies have arrived....
.... from Wanganui, NZ. No name of the maker/sender. Some child is going to love one of these. Many thanks.
Quietness....
I know things are quiet on the blog now as we tail off towards the end of the Gathering of Hearts.
I still have a few photos to take and I have started taking more photos of the hearts all together. There are also some hearts in transit.
Please keep checking out this blog. I have exciting things to share with you. The details of their journey to Christchurch, their exibition details and their final journey into the hands of people in Christchurch, are about to be finalised.
I have handed over the cards and letters, that came with the hearts, to a creative lady who is making them into a book to travel with the hearts. Christchurch will get to see all your amazingly caring thoughts. Thanks, Puddle.
The heart blocks that arrived from Australia are now nearly completed quilts....thanks to Dorothy.
I'll be back later.

Hearts from Bulgaria
These hearts arrived today. The address is Sofia, Bulgaria. I am not sure how many makers there are but a couple of notes and the senders name mean I can name three.... Keti, Jenny and Kemu.... that is just a guess. However by visiting http://www.teaketquiltshop.com/ I think it maybe a group effort.
Many thanks to you all.

A great selection.....
..... from Helen in Victoria, Australia. Thank you very much for these super hearts... I really like the teddy bears .... a big adventure for Teddies to cross the ditch!
Not sure ....
..... from whence they came.
An anonymous stitcher in the UK sent these. Even the postmark is no help as there isn't one. Someone has just scribbled through the stamps with a pen!
Hearfelt thanks for these hearts.

Popular Patchwork....
....Handbag Special has just come out and has the info about Hearts for Christchurch with the blog address. I am still accepting hearts particularly from the UK in response to the magazine having the details. The worst that can happen is they miss the bulk shipment to Christchurch but rest assured I will get them there. Please stitch away knowing your heart will reach someone in Christchurch. Thanks

The Greetland Academy....
....Halifax, UK.
Early Years and Year 1 children (4-6yrs) have made these hearts. What began as them making hearts for their Mummys for Mothers Day extended to making this fine collection for the people of Christchurch. They were shown a clip of what happened in Christchurch and they felt sad. Accompanying the hearts is a letter written by them and pictures of all the children. It is a very special delivery. Thanks to Kath Holford (Class teacher) and extra special thanks to all the children:
Isla, Georgia, Isabel, Lucas, Suranna, Naimh, Nathan, Corey, Molly M, Megan, Ben M, Tilly, Emily, Ben H, Kian, Molly S, Joel, Christian, Charlie, Joseph, Jessie, Matthew, Ben Mc, Adam, Madison and Laila.
Stitched hearts.
Banners of hearts.

The ladies of....
.... Uniting Church, Moulden in the Northern Territory, Australia have sent this selection of hearts. There is a combination of knitted, crocheted, stitched, embellished and cardstock hearts. Thanks so much to you all.
From Christchurch.....
Many thanks Anne for this sweet heart.
The area Anne lives in has been badly affected by the earthquake. With the loss of her own breakables from her shelves and cupboards together with losing her chimney, it is very special that she has made a heart to help spread heartfelt thoughts to someone else in her broken city.

Hand delivered.....
... by Carolyn from Mahia Beach (a bit North of me). Beautiful, lavender hearts. Thank you very much, Carolyn. Sorry I missed meeting you and pleased you were able to see the collection of hearts.

They aren't alone and are being well looked after.
